RACISM: THE BANE OF HUMANITY

Racism is the bane of humanity. It eats deeply into the human soul till it totally devours the humanity in them. It should have never existed in the first place. But here we are, living and wallowing in it. Here we are, defining it everyday. Trying to survive in it, trying to speak, to work and to be humans in it. 

But how on Earth can we be humans when our existence has been confined by the cell of racism, segregation and subjugation. How can we be free when our rights are not being protected?

Now, you don't have to carry weapons to get shot at because the colour of your skin is enough reason already. It doesn't matter who you are, you're a prime suspect already just because you were born with that skin colour.  How then can we be humans without our freedom? And have heard many people say "Oh! I'm black, I can't be racist, I'm brown I can't be racist, I'm white I can't be racist."

No, a racist can't be known through the colour of their skin but through their actions and deeds. It doesn't matter whether you're black, white or brown. What matters the most is if you're human. 

The colour is not the problem. It is the fear and hatred we've attributed to it. It is the misconceptions we've learnt about it. It's time we relearned many things about race. It's time we started being humans. 

so why choose to be racist when you can be human?
